Pro-Lok Industry Contributor Demonstrates Our Expertise and Innovation Through Experience

Wednesday, January 21st, 2015

Pro-Lok is a well-known leader in manufacturing locksmith tools, car opening tools, security hardware and more. We began as a retail locksmith company and used our on the job experiences to customize the tools and products required by technicians. Now, after becoming frequent contributors to industry publications, we have gained even more recognition for our leadership and experiential knowledge .

In the January 2015 Issue of Locksmith Ledger, ”Passive Security: Deterring Forcible Entry” by Adam Duberstein, you can read about Pro-Lok’s history and role in manufacturing the passive security hardware that can generate more income with add-on services while offer customers a comprehensive level of protection for entryways. The story offers readers an in-depth look at the role of latch protectors in adding an extra layer of affordable protection — beyond tamper resistant locking mechanisms — to deter kick-ins, door prying, jamb spreading and other methods of forcible entry.

As many security lock hardware models have grown in size, the traditional passive security measures, such as latch protectors, have not been manufactured to accommodate the clients’ changing taste. This leaves lock technicians without upgrades to offer and the client vulnerable to threats. After years running a locksmith business and responding to reactive security service calls (aka break-ins and compromised locking mechanisms), Pro-Lok began custom manufacturing the security products we needed to build trust in clients.

One project highlighted in the Locksmith Ledger article was our Entry Armor® line of latch protectors and patent pending spacers, which are either elongated to overcome obstacles in the size of new hardware or added to offset gaps in a door.  Both latch protector and spacers, in addition to strike plates and wrap plate, will improve the overall security of the entryway to meet the client’s needs.

We purchased the MAG Manufacturing company in 2011 for the purpose of designing and expanding upon these inexpensive security products we all use and love. This is just one example of our ability to deliver the best products to suit the needs of locksmiths, hardware installers and the property managers they service.

Overall, we are pleased to have caught the attention of such an esteemed industrial publication, and are grateful for the attention we have received as a result. Pro-Lok will continue to improve our security products to produce the best results at the lowest cost for our dealers, wholesalers, affiliates and their customers.
